Welcome to the page of a store like no other – a store exclusively dedicated to gay art. Not gay art as a niche, but as a matter of the heart. Founded by a man who, in 1982, published one of the first books on gay life in Germany – "Schwulenbuch – Lieben, kämpfen, leben" (The Book on Homosexuality – Loving, Fighting, Living) – and who has since made gay visibility his mission.

Our store is a greeting to all gay men in the Netherlands, not just to the gay community in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Utrecht, but across the entire country; we are many, and we are everywhere. We stand with you for visibility and identity. That's why we deliver all products – wall art, mugs with gay motifs, and home decor – directly to your home at good prices.

The Netherlands has a rich art history – from Rembrandt to Vermeer, from Van Gogh to Jan Steen. But gay love in art? It was banished from museums, pushed out of public life. KUNSTWERK BILDER brings it back.

We remember the great masters who shaped Europe's art and cultural history. Claude Monet painted light. Renoir painted tenderness. Van Gogh painted longing. Chagall painted love. But gay men? They didn't appear on any canvas. Not because they weren't there – but because the world wouldn't allow it.
