Welcome to a shop like no other – a shop exclusively dedicated to gay art. Not gay art as a niche, but as a passion project. Founded by a man who, in 1982 in Germany, published one of the first books about homosexual life – "Schwulenbuch – Lieben, kämpfen, leben" (The Book of Gays – love, fight, live) – and who has since never stopped making homosexual visibility his mission.

Our shop is a greeting to all gay men in Denmark, not just to the gay community in Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Odense, but throughout the country; we are many and we are everywhere. We stand with you for visibility and identity. Therefore, we deliver all products – wall art, mugs with gay motifs, and home decor – directly to your home at good prices.

Denmark has a rich art history – from Hammershøi to Eckersberg, from Jens Juel to L.A. Ring. But homosexual love in art? It was kept out of museums, pushed away from the public. KUNSTWERK BILDER brings it back.

We think of the great masters who shaped Europe's art and cultural history. Claude Monet painted light. Renoir painted tenderness. Van Gogh painted longing. Chagall painted love. But gay men? They never appeared on any canvas. Not because they didn't exist – but because the world didn't allow it.
