Klimt, the master who clothed the beauty of women in golden robes, their sensuality, their power; what if this very Gustav Klimt had also turned his gaze to young men? Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was the foremost representative of the Viennese Art Nouveau and co-founder of the Vienna Secession. His “Golden Phase” (1899-1910) produced iconic works such as “The Kiss” and the “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer.” Klimt’s style is characterized by ornamental patterns, gold applications, flat compositions, and a sensual portrayal of the human body. He revolutionized painting by combining symbolism, eroticism, and decorative art.
